December 12th, 2009
Time: 8 PM to 3 AM
Location: Market Square, Kinsman, Ohio
Background: Kinsman is a quiet little town with a
typical town square. Nestled in the Northeast corner of the State of Ohio,
not far from the State of Pennsylvania, and just a hop, skip, and jump from
Ashtabula, Ohio which has a history of Great Lakes shipping. In fact, it is
said that steam ships would make their way down a connecting canal from Lake
Erie, and Ashtabula to pass by Kinsman. It also was built on a site where
another building stood that was burned down by the Indians back in the
1800’s. A young girl and her mother were killed in the fire.
The building is now the site to several stores and
houses a lot of history in each room. We are currently researching on more
information about the building and it’s past.
Structure: The building was built over 100 years
ago. It is a Large brick building with wooden floors throughout.
Structurally very sound, with mild acoustic properties internally. Doors
were solid, oiled and hung well. The Main entrance did have a bell. Windows
were single paned, moderately thick and with no drafts noted. The only thing
we had to be aware of was the floors tended to squeak now and then but we
took this into consideration, making notes whenever we heard footsteps or
noises that weren’t caused by the investigators.
Environmental Conditions: We made notes about the
ambient conditions as well as the outside conditions including wind speed,
wind direction, temperature, and moon phase.
Investigators: Tim Doyle, David Moyers, L Wellington, John Moyers, Andrew
Barabas and David Barabas. Guest : Mary Jo
